Dearest Senator (and hopefully soon President) Cruz,First and foremost I want to thank you for your fight and for being one candidate I can actually say I’d be proud to have as my president if only I could get clarification on one thing. You see I’m at a crossroads in my life and there’s one thing I need to know before I decide whether to vote for you or God forbid someone in the Democratic Party.

When I think about how to define myself the first thing and most important thing is that I am a Christian and my heart beats for Jesus. For many many years I was told that it would be against God to go with my heart when it comes to who I’ve always been attracted to. Because of this I tried numerous times to take my own life but every attempt and survival made it that much more apparent that I was supposed to follow my heart. I still struggled for many more years and literally became so ill I had to be hospitalized many times because I was keeping who I really was a secret from my friends and very republican family. I prayed and prayed for God to change me then when I realized that wasn’t going to happen I came to the conclusion that I had to honor the person that God created and learn to love her or I’d continue to suffer and most likely die from being so emotionally sick that it made me so unbearably physically sick. The one day I knew was coming finally came and I decided to tell my mom that I was gay and no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t change it. She said she still loves me but just can’t wrap her head around it as she and my father did everything in their power to raise a strong Christian woman. I’m still the strong, faithful, devout Christian woman I have always been, I just happen to be in love with a woman. Once I finally accepted myself for who God made me to be I was ready to find my other half and God didn’t waste any time bringing her to me. I am so incredibly in love with this woman and all I want to do for the rest of my life is love her and praise Jesus for bringing her to me. I was one that said I would never get married however I love this woman so much that that’s what I want to do. She has two little boys and I would like the chance to adopt them or at least help raise them as if they were my own. I know without the prospect of marrying this woman there are so many things that we wouldn’t qualify to be as equal as the rest of heterosexual world. Things like healthcare and joint benefits are the main issues that concern me about not being able to officially marry this woman. I feel that it’s up to the states to determine whether or not gays should be able to marry as in the constitution it basically says the federal government should have nothing to do with gay marriage. However honestly I’d like for it to stay legal for people like me to get a marriage certificate (I’m not even saying we should be allowed to get married in a church, I just want to be able to go to the JP and get a certificate) so that they can live their lives together and have the same benefits that heterosexual couples have. My confusion lies in where you stand on this topic. I stand with you on nearly everything you stand for but I cannot vote for someone who will make it even more difficult for me to live my life the way God intended. That’s just how it is.

Look senator it comes down to this, are you going to change the laws about gay marriage to make some people happy or are you finally going to stand up against the radical tea partiers and keep marriage an equal rights opportunity?

The Constitution does not mention marriage. In fact, the Constitution does not discuss any issues concerning morality.  The Constitution and therefore the federal government is not allowed to have an opinion on gay marriage and when Congress passed the Defense of Marriage Act it was UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

The constitution says, via the Tenth Amendment, that the States and the People of those states should decide what they want to do about gay marriage without any interference from the federal government.

So say we follow the constitution and make it a state issues, where would make Texas stand on the marriage equality act?

I appreciate your time and consideration on this matter and I look forward to hearing what your reply is because this will determine how I and many of my friends like me vote.

Thank you again for running an incredible race and for standing up for what is right.

A fellow republican and Christian who happens to be gay,

Kimberly McPherson

What are Affirmations?

Posted: 05/24/2015 in Uncategorized

Thinking yourself healthy and blessed is so important!

Len's Oils

Affrimations for homelessWhen I was 17 I went to Rockford, Michigan, to go to the Circle A Ranch directed by Skip Ross. One of the lessons Skip taught us was the importance of positive affirmations.

What are Affirmations?
Every thought you think, every word you say is an affirmation. All of our self-talk or inner dialogue is a stream of affirmations. We are continually affirming subconsciously with our words and thoughts, and this flow of affirmations is creating our life experience in every moment.

Our beliefs are just learned thought patterns that we have developed since childhood. Many of these work well for us, but others may now be working against us. They are dysfunctional and may be sabotaging us from achieving what we believe we want.
Every affirmation we think or say is a reflection of our inner truth or beliefs. This is our reality. It is important to realize that…

Some more wonderful truth by my favorite blogger, Nizy!

Nizy's Life Compendium

Sometimes it is easy to think that we can do all things in our own, then we stumble, get frustrated and we feel like life seems falling apart. We forget to pray! Pray about it! Often times, we’ve prayed, fasted, explored countless options and feel helpless because of “unanswered” prayers, well maybe we’re lacking of faith. FAITH and PRAYER must come together. Matthew 17:20‘’He replied, “Because you have so little faith.  I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Whenever I read this verse, it brings me peace while I wait! I know that sooner or later God will reveal His purpose in my life. Let’spray and have faith while waiting, for God’s TIMING is PERFECT!

Patience is not just…

Truth by my dear friend Nizy!

Nizy's Life Compendium

ko..”People are brought together for a reason, everything happens for a reason. I believe the reason that you and me were brought together was because we complete one another. We fill in each other’s missing spots with love. And if someday God decides to tear us apart, I trust that there is a reason. Because if there is a reason for love, there is a reason for life beyond it.”

declaring world peace

September 21 is the annual observance of the United Nations International Day of Peace, often called Peace Day. It is a day set aside to honor world peace, celebrate it, and observe it. it is to be a day of ceasefire. I consider it a very special day.

In my part of the world, Merlene Davis had an excellent article, Organizers hope local celebration of Peace Day will have ripple effect, in the Lexington (KY)  Herald Leader about the day and about an interfaith observance in that city that was to be held today (Thursday).

I will be there just like you were there for me! Thank you Nizy from the bottom of my heart for calling and checking in on me, praying for me, texting me, thinking of me, and going above and beyond the call of duty of a friend. I LOVE you girl! Thank you so so much for allowing me to reblog this! You inspire me so much and are able to express things far better than I on so many topics. Thank you for letting me use your words to describe how I feel at times.

When she’s crying and you see tears running down her face,

Will you be there?

When she’s in her deepest fear,

Will you be there?

When she face her darkest hour,

Will you be there?

Will you help when she’s in trouble?

Will you watch as she weeps?

I have one other question…

When you have your head hanging down,

Will it be her that you seek?

When she’s down and nowhere to run,

Will you be there with open arms?

So please, try not to judge, you have no right to judge!

Thank you so much Nizy! I need this right now. Staying in prayer and hugging Harley as much as possible. I know the time is near. I don’t want to do this but I just may have to. I think she is suffering. I can’t let her suffer. I owe it to her to let her go in peace. I am praying that God allows dogs into His kingdom. I just know He will. She deserves it. She deserves happiness and peace from all of this suffering. I feel like I’m losing a piece of me. I know I will see her again one day in Heaven if it is His will. I just pray that it is. I love you Nizy. I need a hug.

The Journey begins Here

The Gypsy had come a long way by now. Starting with a new Beginning (Pillar I), an offer and a promise served to enlighten and envelop her. Turning to a broader scope of the world and Discovering (Pillar II) that her own small world was but a fraction of what was necessary to understand her purpose served to push her further. Now, casting off her selfish quest in order to understand and read others was her sole focus for the time being. She smiled with contentment at her self-discovery, delighted that she grasped the Realities of Life (Pillar III), knowing those realities would help mold her own sensibilities – help her centre her own spirituality and place in the Universe and in doing so perhaps re-create a better person.

Revelations In Writing

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” – John 10:10

All that is here that attempts to harm, is from the pit of hell.  Jesus came so that we might overcome all that comes against us.  In Him, we have the power and authority to press on toward our permanent prize of eternal life with Him.

Our hope is in Him alone.  Though we have struggles and suffering in this space, we also have our Savior; the solid Rock to whom we can continually cling.  The thief, the devil, the deceiver – the one who opposes God and attempts to steal the souls of men, is a liar who is trying to tear us down.  However, once we have invited Christ to be in command, we have His covering that conquers all that…

You Quit, You Fail!.

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Just rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,

When he might have won had he stuck it out;

Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,

You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

And you never can tell how close you are,

It may be near when it seems so far,

So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit.

It’s when things seem worst that…

Are you tired of waiting for God to do something for you?  I too struggle with waiting on God’s timing in different areas of  my life. Some days, it is a lot harder to be patient. When we’re bringing our concerns to the Lord again and again, we grow tired of waiting. It soon begins to feel like our prayers are falling on deaf ears. Often our desire is to take control and just “do the best we can”; it is our fleshly reaction to the silence. We know Galatians 5 lists patience as a fruit of the Holy Spirit so we confess our desire to rule our own lives. We ask the Spirit to fill us, empowering and directing us even as we continue to wait on the Lord.

When you begin to feel the pressure to quit, your attitude must be as the Psalmist…

Guidance.

When I meditated on the word

GUIDANCE, I kept seeing “dance” at the

end of the word. I remember

reading that doing God’s will is a lot

like dancing. When two people

try to lead, nothing feels right. The

movement doesn’t flow with

the music, and everything is quite

uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes and

lets the other lead, both bodies begin

to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge

to the back or by pressing

lightly in one direction or another. It’s

as if two become one body,

moving beautifully. The dance takes

surrender, willingness, and

attentiveness from one person and gentle

guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word

GUIDANCE. When I saw “G,” I thought of

God, followed by “u” and “i.”

“God, “u” and “i” “dance.” God, you,

and I dance! This

Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul:

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’ sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;

Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;

Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever. Amen!

Let’s say that you built your platform the right way. You have a nice blog, a Twitter account, a Facebook page, all that. You have, what some might call, a following.

And maybe you’re not happy with the exposure you’re gaining from doing all this stuff (which, let’s face it, takes a lot of time.) So you want to earn a few extra bucks while you’re at it. Here are some of the ways you can do that.

When you first self-publish, it’s easy to get caught up in an avalanche of new words. You build an author platform, you promote, you post giveaways, you send ARCs, you tweet, you blog.

You’re constantly searching for a target audience, making up marketing plans. You’re slowly turning into a business man. Sometimes you might even talk like one. Heaven forbid you actually start dressing like one.

Whether you like it or not, Self-Publishing is a business. So how much money can you expect to earn if you self-publish?

(CNN) – “The Blind Side” was a heartwarming movie about a real-life Christian family who adopted a troubled teen with a knack for football, helped him get into college, and eventually all the way to the NFL. It was nominated for a best picture Oscar, won Sandra Bullock the best actress Oscar, and it won over Christian audiences who for decades have said they were slighted and misrepresented by Hollywood. But all that was not enough to keep the movie on the shelves one of the country’s largest Christian bookstores.

LifeWay Christian Resources, a division of the Southern Baptist Convention, had been selling the DVD at its 165 stores for two years with a sticker warning its patrons of strong language. There were rumblings about a resolution last month at the denomination’s annual conference, and complaints from about a dozen people prompted LifeWay to remove the film from its shelves and online store…..
“When Hollywood does that incredible rare thing and portrays people of faith in a positive light, it’s such a rare thing, we have to be grateful,” he said and not push to have the film removed from stores.

I personally love this movie. I like that it actually portrays Christians in a positive light for once. I think it is sad that it is being pulled from the shelves of Christian book stores because of a racial slur. I do happen to agree that using the Lord’s name in vain is unnecessary and could have been left out of the movie. I do see where the people of the Christian book store would be offended at such a thing, however this is a Hollywood movie and us Christians have to take our positive light where we can get it.
I don’t condone taking the Lord’s name in vain and If you were my friend saying it I would tell you to think about who and what you are talking about before spouting off such a thing. If I didn’t know you I would turn the other way and not want to get to know you. I wouldn’t say hey that’s offensive (unless I was PMSsing) although, now that I think about it, maybe I should. Because, after all it is offensive. This topic is a tough one because like I said, we need to take our props where we can get it. Maybe they should just bleep out the parts that aren’t representing Christians in the proper light. Now, there’s a way to keep everyone happy. I think!
What are your thoughts about this? I would like to hear what you have to say!
Much love,
Kimmy

Of course my moods change, but the average is serenity. I have a firm faith in art, a firm confidence in its being a powerful stream which carries a man to a harbor, though he himself must do his bit too; at all events, I think it such a great blessings. Vincent van Gogh

My little 5×5 inch piece of work is tucked in between two of  Master Artist Vincent van Gogh. What nerve of me to think my art can compare to his!

Of course I am not comparing at all and anyone who knows me would be on the floor laughing at the audacity of the thought. What I can compare though is MOOD. As van Gogh’s quotation points out his general mood is serenity which reflects in his art, as is mine. But, I look at my ‘Pink’ piece I see that I did not possess an…

RSD Advisory- Where Chronic Pain & Depression Collide

Cyclothymic Disorder
http://www.merck.com/mrkshared/mmanual/section15/chapter189/189e.jsp

Less severe hypomanic and mini-depressive periods follow an irregular course, with each period lasting a few days. Cyclothymic disorder is commonly a precursor of bipolar II disorder. But it can also occur as extreme moodiness without being complicated by major mood disorders. In such cases, brief cycles of retarded depression accompanied by low self-confidence and increased sleep alternate with elation or increased enthusiasm and shortened sleep. In another form, low-grade depressive features predominate; the bipolar tendency is shown primarily by how easily elation or irritability is induced by antidepressants. In chronic hypomania, a form rarely seen clinically, elated periods predominate, with habitual reduction of sleep to < 6 h. Persons with this form are constantly overcheerful, self-assured, overenergetic, full of plans, improvident, overinvolved, and meddlesome; they rush off with restless impulses and accost people.

Although cyclothymic and chronic hypomanic dispositions contribute to success in business, leadership, achievement…

Unjaded Muse Poetry

Vintage ’85 stars in a bottle;
it was a very good year.
They have been sitting on a shelf
waiting for a special occasion to shine.

Now they are chilling in the fridge,
with two glasses on the counter top
awaiting their fulfillment.

They are not crystal,
but they are clean and unbroken.

One man’s journey of living with bipolar disorder. Here is one of his downs.

Here is my response to Him:

Hey hon, I’m here for you. I too struggle with HUGE ups and downs and can’t seem to find a good middle ground until recently. When I get super depressed I find it helpful to remember it’s only for this moment and it will pass soon. Also, I spend a lot of time with my dog when I get like that. Do you have a pet? I have found that my dog can cure me in a matter of minutes. I mean, it’s not like she has a script pad and can make me completely changed it’s more that when I care for her it takes my mind off of how horrible and shameful I feel. Also, have you called your p doc? Maybe he or she can up your anti-depressants for the moment to get you to some stable ground. I don’t know I’m just thinking out loud. Another tip is to take a good b complex capsule (like the vitamin store brand) and start taking Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega’s. I take four capsules of the Ultimate Omega’s a day and I can tell a HUGE difference in a matter of days when I start taking it after I have stopped for a while. If you can afford these get someone to go to the nearest vitamin store and make sure and get this brand because it is the best and works the best. I’m not kidding these have made the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE in my life. Since I started taking these I have not had the huge ups and downs and I am actually stable for once in my life!
I also take a double dose of emergen-c packets that dissolve in water and drink it like it is going out of style. It will help give you an instant boost of energy and elevate your mood instantly.
Is there someone around that you can hug? If you hug someone (or an animal) for 20 seconds straight your body starts to create oxytocin (that feel good chemical) and you will start to feel better in minutes. Also, talk out your feelings. Write a list and prioritize what really matters in the big scheme of things. If you can’t do anything about something then push it to the bottom of the list or mark it off. I’ve listed all that I can think of but I know something that helps me the most. Do you happen pray or believe in God? I don’t know what your beliefs are but here is what I do: If you even have the slightest inkling that there is someone that created you I suggest talking to Him. Even if you are pissed off He doesn’t care He is big enough to take it and only cares that you acknowledge him. When I pray I just talk to Him like He is my best friend and is right in front of me. I imagine his face and I tell Him how I am feeling and let Him know that I need His help to get me through one minute at a time. I pray for hoards of angels to help get me through the day and to watch over me and to change my attitude. I have found saying “In the name of Jesus” I command that this depression flee and then I thank God, before anything happens, for changing my outlook in an instant. This places an emphasis on the faith that you have in Him and that you know He will provide before it happens. If you want I will pray with you. Also, if you even just want to talk or scream or whatever I am here for you. My number is 7-3—–73-7. Call or text me anytime and I will answer if I’m not showering or sleeping. I will get back to you just as soon as I wake up or get out of the shower. I am going to pray for you right now and I know that you will feel better soon. I have full faith in God like that. He is amazing at the power of restoration. Take it easy and try not to be too hard on yourself. Watch some funny tv or a movie or do something mindless like surfing the web for a bit. I hope this helps in some way and I am not trying to push my beliefs on you I am merely stating what helps me. Like I said, I am here for you!
Much Love and abundant blessings,
Big Hugs,
Kimmy

Manic Macca's Bipolar

hidden feeling's

Well were do I start ?

It’s been a few week’s since my last post and oh what a difference a few week’s make. I’ve gone from being euphoric and on top of the world to feeling absolutely worthless. I no longer want to get out of bed or even bother with simple daily task’s. Right now I honestly couldn’t care less about anything. Yes that sound’s pretty drastic but that’s the honest truth. I would happily go to sleep an not wake up right now.

I understand that sound’s suicidal but that’s not exactly what I’m getting at, I no longer want this nonexistent lifestyle. I feel that there’s more to my existence than this, I just don’t fucking know what?? It feel’s like I didn’t want to wake up. I was having a much better time asleep. And that’s really sad. It was almost like a reverse nightmare, like when you…

Another great post by August McLaughlin!

Girl Boner

Yes, you read that right.

In an ideal world, we’d step into our backyards for fresh produce, whole grains and organic eggs, or into our aromatic dining rooms after our personal farmers and chefs did on our behalf. Busy work and home lives, finances and that little thing called reality seldom allow for that, but that doesn’t mean we can’t reap similar benefits.

‘Healthy processed food’ can seem like an oxymoron, but there are nutritious options available. By incorporating them into our diets, we can reap benefits ranging from improved nutrient intake and immune function, to sharpened creativity, weight control and moods. I’m not affiliated with the companies below, but I dig their products.

10 Processed Foods Worth Eating

1. Ezekial Bread When I first began studying nutrition 10-plus years ago, I had to venture to a health food co-op for Ezekial bread. Now most large grocery chains carry Ezekial…

One of my all time favourites from Leonard Cohen

“Anthem”

The birds they sang
at the break of day
Start again
I heard them say
Don’t dwell on what
has passed away
or what is yet to be.
Ah the wars they will
be fought again
The holy dove
She will be caught again
bought and sold
and bought again
the dove is never free.Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.

We asked for signs
the signs were sent:
the birth betrayed
the marriage spent
Yeah the widowhood
of every government —
signs for all to see.

I can’t run no more
with that lawless crowd
while the killers in high places
say their prayers out loud.
But they’ve summoned, they’ve summoned up
a thundercloud
and they’re going to hear from me.
